Two

Isabel is two! We had a good day. After school we had a party with ice cream cake, candles, and presents. Isabel really got into opening all her presents and loved everything! She insisted on trying on the clothing, one shirt on top of the other. It's hard to believe she's such a big girl already!

Swimming

The kids' progress in the pool is fantastic. Izzy knows how to get around in her life vest. Ollie is basically swimming. He holds his nose to go under. If he didn't have to do that he would be swimming. Clara is very comfortable in the water and gets braver every day we swim.

First Day of School

Clara had a great first day of 2nd grade! Mostly she talked about which friends she saw where and that a boy at lunch said he also likes lentil soup. Lentil soup was her request for lunch, along with cherry tomatoes, an orange and chocolate milk. Good girl! I can't believe how much more grown up she looks from last years first day of school pictures!

Last days of summer

Thursday was Damian's last final for this trimester. His hard work has paid off! He ended the trimester with great grades! Thursday evening was meet-the-teacher night for Clara. Her teacher is Miss Murphy. She is young and seems very nice. Clara knows 2 girls that are in her class. I wanted to do something fun this weekend since it is the only time Damian and Clara overlap as far as breaks go. We have been swimming together and attended a dog show that the apartment put on last night. Clara, especially, enjoyed seeing the dogs. She is still very much dog crazy! Today we decided to pack up a lunch and go to Lewisville Lake which is only about 10 minutes down the road. We did have to pay $10 just to enter, but figured it was still the cheapest entertainment in town. The Lewisville Fire Dept was at the "beach" handing out free life jackets for kids. That alone was worth our $10. Ollie and Izzy already had functioning life jackets, but Clara had long outgrown hers. The kids kept saying they had a good time playing in the sand and rocks, so it was worth the trip.

Potty Party Time?

Isabel has really taken to potty training. Yesterday the only diaper I used was for night and she only had 1 accident. I think we will wait to have our potty party until next month, after the birthday celebrations are over. Here Isabel is showing me her panties. Her favorites are the Dora hand-me-downs from Catia.

Seven

By Clara's request we began our day with pancakes topped with whipped cream and strawberries. She opened most of her presents the night before as they arrived in the mail on Wednesday. The plan was to go to the mall to Build-a-Bear Workshop to buy clothes for her teddy bear. That's just what we did and then ate at the Rainforest Cafe. The food was not so great and quite expensive. I guess one pays for the atmosphere. The kids had a great time, though!

Rangers game

Two Sundays ago we attempted a Rangers game. We bought $1 ice cream cones and lasted about 1 hour. That was good enough for us. No one got hurt or sick or crazy.
